My daughter's bathroom. The cabinet base was a dark brown. The mirror above was white and nice enough to keep. Wanting to keep our spending in check we decided to sand and paint the base. We added new hardware. Simply square knobs we turned to look more diamond shape. The sink and faucet would make it look nicer but with a painted base cabinet it left me wondering what I could do with the counter!!!
I love pintrest. I seen somewhere a person used the stone type spray paint. I am the queen of spray paint! I couldn't even begin to tally everything I have spray painted. One of my favorite projects was spray painting my shutters on the house. The counter top - my go to thing? Spray paint. Now this is my second favorite spray painted project.
The secret is sanding to rough up the surface and letting the paint DRY throughly between coats. Also when you spray you want to "swipe" the color on. Not a continious spraying motion - you want to aviod runs.
Two coats of the hammered rustoleum and one coat of clear coat and viola a desingner counter!
